Thank you for your interest in participating!

This is a simple 3 minute experiment designed to investigate the way we learn language.

First you will be asked for a little bit of information about yourself. You will then listen to speech in a "nonsense language" for two minutes while playing a simple game on the screen. This will be followed by a few brief questions about what you heard.

Because this experiment requires that you are able to hear the "nonsense language" clearly, please turn up your computer speaker (or wear headphones) and make sure there's no other noise nearby.

If you complete the experiment, you will be paid $1 via PayPal to the e-mail address you provide, within 48 hours. You will only be paid for the first time that you participate in this experiment.

Your browser must support Java version 1.4 or above to run this experiment. If it doesn't seem to be working correctly you can download the most recent version of Java here.

The experiment was designed by Michael Ferrier, a graduate student in Brown University's Department of Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences. If you have any questions about this experiment you can write to me at Michael_Ferrier(at)brown.edu.
